It seems to me that there's a lot of noise about regarding economics, and what is going on in the world's "markets". Personally, I've spent a fair bit of time trying to decipher it, to understand the lingo (some of it deliberately misleading), and to plan for the future as I see it. And as I see it, the future is bleak from an economic point of view.
Having a historical bent, especially for the 1900 to the present, I long ago began reading not just about wars, or this event or that, but began mentally piecing together how these things happen systemically, and what are the longer-term results that we don't notice until they cause another ruction. That being the case, I see the current volatility as having a very long antecedence, stretching back at to least the end of WWII, and very probably much further than that (but how long is a piece of string?).What we are seeing now is chickens coming home to roost. These chickens are not just financial. They are environmental, educational, and cultural, but I'll try to limit the scope of this to the vaguely digestible.
I know that if you rely on mainstream media, or even any other commercially reliant media, you will receive a mix of facts, opinions provoked by self-interest, outright lies, government and corporate propaganda, and insane jabbering. I hope to be able in these pieces to be able to take out most of these and present some relatively clear-eyed information for people who may be beginning to doubt the "Bright Shining Lie" (to quote a very good book, not about economics) of our system.
I also welcome any kind of questions that people might have regarding, finance, economics, and any other matters that come to mind.
